Sunday, May 16th is the date for the 8th Annual Fordlovers West Coast Nationals. This All Ford & Mustang event has become a much anticipated “Ford lover” gathering with support and attendance from the Bay area to Reno and from So. California to Idaho! It offers three classes of Bracket Races, an All Ford powered Car Show manned & sponsored by the Sacramento Area Mustang Club and an All Ford parts Swap Meet. Sacramento Raceway opens its gates to Ford-powered vehicles only, just once a year, and May 16th is the day for 2010.
The past events have been very successful, excluding 2009 when rain forced cancellation and moved to the next weekend – Mother’s Day – that didn’t turn out well at all. But we are looking forward to sunshine and 75 degree weather this year. Racing activity will have wheel-standing cars from the mid-seven second range to 18 – 19 second family cars, it truly offers anyone with a driver’s license and a car that will pass a minimal technical inspection the chance to make a few passes down the drag strip. Participants can just signup for time trials only or enter full-on bracket races for cash prizes totaling over $1,500!
The car show manned by the Sacramento Area Mustang Club, features more than 40 awards including a “Best-of-Show” trophy. We also will guarantee dash plaques & event t-shirts for first 100 pre-registered entrants.
The swap meet is a great opportunity to bring out some of the items stuck back in the corners of your garage to sell, or to shop for your next project. If you have been waiting for just that right moment to get started – this is it! Remember, this is an All Ford show, race & swap, nothing but Fords, a captive audience, what more can a Ford lover ask for?
As in the past, we will have the Hooters Girls there for photo ops, vendors, raffle prizes and day full of beautiful Fords & Mustangs, exciting race action and treasure hunting. We hope to top the 800 to 900 spectators we had a couple of years ago keeping all of the entry prices the same as 2008. Don’t miss a great day to bring family out for a fun Ford Sunday, and, oh yes, kids under 12 get in free.
