This is the 61st year for the Sacrament Autorama, making it one of the longest running, biggest, and most prestigious indoor car shows in the country. Started back in 1950 by the colorful Harold “Baggy” Bagdasrian, this show will feature a collection of specialty vehicles, classic cars, motorcycles, muscle cars, hot rods, and other fine custom cars, that all together will make up a dazzling presentation of more than 450 vehicle exhibits and displays.
When attendees’ tired feet need a break from ogling the impressive spectrum of custom vehicles and artwork, they can enjoy sitting down in the Suede Pavilion and listening a great selection of live Blues, Rockabilly, Bluegrass, and Country and Western music.
Some of the groups that will be included are The Mighty Mojo Prophets from L.A., Lil Mo and Thhe Dynaflo’s from Hollywood, The BoozeBombs from Germany, and The Royal Deuces from Oakland. There will also be several DJ’s spinning in-between group performances.
Other entertainment options will include car club award ceremonies like the best Custom d’Elegance, the King of Kustoms, America’s Most Beautiful Roadster, the Triple Gun Award, the Best Dressed Flat Head, and many others, plus Pin Striper artwork awards and a car pin-up contest.
Many famous original creations like the Batmobile, Munster Koach, King T, Palamides jet-powered dragsters, among others, have made this the must see car event of the year for many car enthusiasts. This year is sure to proffer a few more to be added to the list!
Car Show Parking
There will be parking available at the Main and East Gates off of Exposition Blvd for a general fee of $10.00 per-car. Additionally, here are often free parking spaces available in the surrounding area.
Directions and Transportation
Conveniently located near the center of town, right off of the Capital City Freeway (business 80), Sacramento Autorama attendees only have to get off on the Exposition Blvd exit and follow the Cal Expo signs.
For those who will be using public transportation, bus routes 67 and 68 have a stop near Exposition Blvd, as well as several light train routes.
An amazing selection of exotic cars, relaxing entertainment, a convenient location, and singular car creations - all of these are reasons that illustrate the rationale for why we are excited about what will be another year of at least sixty more Sacramento Autorama shows that we have to look forward to in the future.
