Russo and Steele’s 2012 Monterey Auction is held in conjunction with the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance as part of Monterey’s Historic Car week. Over 250 cars are expected to be auctioned off during Monterey’s race weekend. Russo and Steele originally started auctioning cars in Scottsdale Arizona in 2001. The name Russo comes from the dark red color of the vintage Ferrari called Russo Rubino and the name Steele represents the “Detroit Iron” or the American Muscle cars (as per the Russo and Steele website).
Russo and Steele is a consignment auction where some of the most unique and valuable classic and collectable cars are auctioned off to the highest bidder. The event draws owners and restorers of American Muscle cars, Luxury cars, hot rods and custom cars as well as an awesome selection of European Sports Cars. While many of the cars are auctioned with reserves there are also quite a few no reserve cars providing the chance to pick something up at a great price.

The Russo and Steele auction in Monterey is expected to also have a huge attendance partially due to the fact that is being held at the same time the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance is being held, allowing car enthusiasts to fly in and check out two of California’s greatest automotive event of the year.
