difficulty is not knowing what was available with different years and models of
trucks. We have endeavored to compile a quick reference to help you decide what

This comparison is designed to give readers an idea of what features were
available on different models and the year that the feature was introduced.
Different years offered varying options, so this can in no way be considered a

Fords Super cab (for the F-150, F-250 and F-350 trucks) made a major style
change in 1997 when the change was made from a 2 door super cab to a 4 door
super cab. Ford was the first of the automakers to offer the 4 doors on their
trucks as a standard feature.
Chevy offered a 3-door truck from 1997 to 1998 and a 4-door truck starting in
1999.
The F-150, F-250 and F-350 came with several optional engines. The available
engines varied by the Cab Model.

In 1999 Ford introduced a super charged V-8 for the F-150 (Harley Davidson and
Lightning additions) and a 6.8 liter V-10 option for its Super "Duty" line of
trucks.
In 2004 a Bi-Fuel option was added for the new Heritage line of F-150 pickups.
Long and short beds were offered with most years and models of Ford trucks. In
2003 the "King Ranch" 6' and 8' beds were introduced for the "Super Duty" Super
Cab and the "Super Duty" Crew Cab lines of F-250 and F-350 pickups.
Starting with 2004 the "King Ranch" beds were only available for the "Super
Duty" Crew Cab pickups and a new "Harley" 6' and 8' bed was introduced for the
"Super Duty" Super Cab and the "Super Duty" Crew Cab lines of truck.
