120,000 miles into ownership, my 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan SE is still running strong. It has six cylinders with 3.0 liters. At 60,000 miles, the transmission needed repair. Since then I have not had any major issues. Thus, my failing confidence has been restored.
The Caravan's factory radio is more than adequate, but lacks a cassette or compact disc player. The steering wheel is adjustable up and down. The gauges are easy to read and controls simple. The two front seats are very comfortable. Each seat is adjustable with electronic buttons and knobs. Don't get anything caught on the knobs, though. I have drained my battery because a box became wedged under a knob. The Caravan's two rear bench seats are removable; however they are extremely heavy and require two people to move them. The interior offers lots of storage space, overhead compartments, and lots of cup holders. The van has only one sliding door.
Replacement parts for the Grand Caravan are cheap and readily accessible. The engine is roomy, which makes repairs much easier. The spark plugs seem to melt into the engine after a long period of time. I would suggest to someone buying a used Dodge Caravan to request that the dealer change the spark plugs and wires before it leaves the lot. I had to take mine to a mechanic for the extraction of the spark plugs. They were really stuck in there! I remove and inspect the spark plugs every time I change the oil.
