I own a front wheel drive, four door, 2004 Dodge Stratus SE with a 4-cylinder, 2.4 liter automatic engine. I am the only owner of the vehicle, as I bought it new from the Dodge dealer. The sale price was excellent, although resale price on a Stratus is poor. Shortly after I purchased the vehicle, I discovered Dodge issued a recall involving the fuel pump. The dealer repaired the problem free of charge and without hassle.
The body of my Stratus is sleek, and low to the ground. This gives it a cool sporty look. Wet weather traction is great. The car is a front-wheel drive, and spin-outs can easily occur on ice and snow. Entering highway ramps and merging with traffic is a breeze with the Stratus SE's superior pick up speed.
The interior offers roomy seats for the driver and passengers. A low roofline and acute door angles can create difficulty in entering the car. Once inside, though, the occupants will experience comfortable seats and a roomy rear bench seat. The Dodge Stratus offers a fold down rear seat that meets up with a large trunk, which has an interior emergency release.
The Status SE's engine is cramped for space. The average person might experience difficulty in repair or replacement of major parts. The oil stick, spark plugs and wires are all easily accessible. There have been issued reported of oil sludge collecting in the engine, causing major problems, although I have not experienced this.
