My 2003 Explorer Sport Trac Pickup Truck has the roomy, smooth ride of an SUV, and the convenience of a truck bed. The Ford Explorer's bed is comprised of a nearly indestructible composite material, and is about four feet long. There is a waterproof 12-volt power source in the cargo area, useful for power tools and even refrigerators. The cargo cage/bed extender is a hinged, stainless-steel tube-frame that flips back to the edge of the dropped tailgate. This extender increases the bed length to 6 feet. Although this feature adds valuable space, it won't hold back dirt or other loose materials.
The cab has four doors, which make entry and exit easy for occupants. The four wheel drive feature of the Explorer helps the navigation through any terrain, rain, ice and snow. The Explorer has Ford's six cylinder flex fuel engine. This smaller engine limits the load the vehicle can carry.
The Ford Explorer can hold five people comfortably. The rear is very roomy, and is child seat friendly. Two Canopy air bags are a safety feature that prevents individuals from being thrown from the vehicle during a collision. The interior sports several cup holders, a glove compartment, a console overhead and a console between the front seats. The middle console offers a removable feature in order to carry its contents out of the car.
Access to the bed from the rear seats is possible via the power window. Kids love this feature. They can easily reach the cooler for drinks and snacks.
