A 2001 GMC Yukon XL with a 6.0 liter, 8-cylinder engine is the horse I ride to work everyday.
This monster seats up to nine people, has oceans of room, lots of storage space, cup holders, front and rear air conditioning and heat. I bought the truck used at 63,000 miles, and it continues to run as if brand new. The all time four wheel drive combined with the strong engine allows the Yukon to navigate through snow, ice, rain - you name it.
The body of my Yukon is sturdy, with side-impact beams and dual front airbags. The 320 horses under the hood gallop to highway speed in seconds. Merging with traffic is never a problem. The truck rides smoothly like silk. Bumps and dips in the road are absorbed evenly by the Yukon's excellent suspension. The huge engine has its price, though. Fuel economy is poor, as is to be expected of such a powerful vehicle. The hatch has two options of opening. The glass can be released by itself, or the whole hatch can be released, revealing tremendous space.
The large engine is roomy, which makes repairs on major parts easily accessible. My Yukon is very dependable, roaring to life regardless of the outside temperature. My Yukon came with a spare tire and jack. I have replaced the factory jack with one I purchased from an auto store. The extension pole snapped the first time I tried to use it. Good thing I was only in my driveway.
