I own a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire, with a 4-cylinder engine. It offers four speeds in the automatic transmission. I am the second owner of the vehicle, as I bought it used in excellent condition. This is a cute and sporty little car. It has quick pick up speed and corners winding roads very well.
The Sunfire offers safety features which include side door guard beams, air bags and an emergency trunk release. It has good pick up speed, a quiet engine and a smooth ride. Good fuel economy makes the car even more of a joy to own. City driving will use roughly 25 miles per gallon while highway driving uses 30 miles per gallon.
The interior offers roomy seats for the driver and passenger, although the back seats can be cramped. The Sunfire has several cup holders, a large glove compartment and console for storage. The trunk is large and features a cargo net. The head room in the car can be lacking for taller people. The rear panel in the Sunfire causes some obstruction in the rear view mirror. The ignition has a release button to remove the key, which can be an awkward maneuver.
The Sunfire's engine is compact, although the oil dip stick, spark plugs and wires are easy to access. The vehicle is very dependable, starting up every time. The front wheel drive will cause some traction loss in ice and snow. The car is very light, and quickly returns to control.
