More than 300 classic cars, vintage motorcycles, antique trailers, and wooden boats will be displayed on the lawns of Ironstone Winery when the l4th annual Ironstone Concours d’Elegance is presented on Saturday, September 25, from 10 AM - 4 PM in Murphys, California.

This year’s Concours will feature new classes for Metal Bodied Station Wagons (1946 to 1971), Steam and Electric Powered vehicles, Bentley and Rolls-Royce.

Rather than awarding first, second and third prizes in each class, judges will designate a percentage of the cars in each class to receive a ribbon indicating an Award of Merit. From that group, judges will choose one vehicle designated Best of Class. Those vehicles will be paraded over the stage.

“We feel this approach to judging is consistent with our determination to keep Ironstone a fun, relaxing and elegant event,” said John Kautz, co-founder with wife Gail of the Ironstone Concours d’Elegance. “It’s also reminiscent of the French Concours d'Elegance of the 1930s, where each car was judged on its overall elegance and style rather than for its minutely restored perfection.”

Only stock, non-modified cars are accepted at Ironstone. “We also love original, unrestored and well-maintained vehicles,” declared Gail Kautz. “All participants are invited to attend the Welcome Wine Tasting reception and dinner on Friday night and the Gala Luncheon on Saturday. These wonderful events are important in our efforts to raise funds for our worthy beneficiaries: the Future Farmers of America, 4H Clubs and the California State Fair Scholarship Fund.”
