The Show starts on Friday February 15th with the vendors moving in on Wednesday Feb 13-14th. The awards ceremony is held on Sunday Feb. 17, 2013 starting at 4pm. This is a major event that is covered by most of the local television (National press was given by ABC news in 2011), radio stations as well as magazines and newspapers. This is also a good time to get some unique shots of the top cars. Some of the major awards that will be announce are the “King of Kustoms” awards, “Custom d’Elegance” and others like the “Big B”, Bagdasarian (Named after the founder of the Sacramento Autorama, Harold "Baggy" Bagdasarian who was then the president of the Capital City Auto Club Thunderbolts), Barris, Bertolucci and Bailon awards.

The Sacramento Autorama has about 9 top awards each year as well as many smaller categories. The top award catagores for 2012 were Best Restored, Best Truck, Custom D’Elegance, King of Kustoms, Sam Barris Memorial Award, Joe Bailon Award, Lee’s Vintage Car Show Restoration award, Manuel Arteche Memorial award, and Steve’s Autobody Restorations award. Each year the top award categories change although the King of Kustoms and Customs D’Elegance are the staples of the top awards for the Sacramento Autorama.
