Northern California Colleges and Universities offering EV Charging
Colleges and Universities have always been the grounds for social change and holding to this tradition many colleges have been among the leaders in the adopting environmentally friendly measures like promoting electric vehicles and other alternative forms of energy and transportation.
Stanford University has had EV chargers on campus for quite a while now. As of Nov 2011 Stanford University now has 6 new J1722 EV charging stations that are compatible with the newest Electric cars like the Chevy Volt, and Nissan Leaf or the awesome Tesla roadster. These charging stations are located at three locations on the Universities campus. To accommodate cars needing one of the older charging systems, Stanford Parking Structure 5 also has one of the older 240V SPI chargers.
Other universities that have adopted EV technology include UC Davis in Sacramento. Two are found at the UC Davis Medical center and one at one of the Extensions at the Sutter Galleria Mall.
Colleges and Universities with EV Chargers
It's a good idea to call the EV charging location ahead of time to ensure the chargers are in operation and available for use.
If you know of a EV Charging station that is not on our list, please suggest it on our "Suggest an EV location" form. New Cities and Counties will be added as we collect the information on the Electric Car Charging Locations.
