The Toyota Tundra is a full-sized truck that was created by Toyota in 2000. When the Tundra was first created, it had two body styles, the 2-door regular cab and the bigger 4-door crew cab. It has many additional accessories that you could add to it to make it different from all the other types of trucks that you might see.

Some of the accessories are different types of toolboxes and covers ranging from seat covers to full car covers. There is also a range of headlights that you could choose from, like fluorescent lights, or fog lights. There is also the option of getting a roll bar and putting high lights on top of that to see farther in the dark. It also has a super charger kit for the V8 engine that boosts the engine to 504 horsepower and 550 pound feet of torque.

The Tundra’s engine came in two generations; the 2000 to 2004, and the 2005 to present date. The Tundra first started out with a V6 engine, and 190-horse power with 220 pound feet of torque in the first generation. From there the Tundra grew to have a V8 engine with 271 horsepower and a 313 pound feet of torque in the second generation. This next year’s 2010 version of the Tundra comes with a 236 to 381 horsepower engine.

On a point of safety it has frontal airbags, side airbags, knee airbags, and a curtain airbag to protect your head. It comes with the normal shoulder seat belts. The Tundra got the highest rating of safety from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

There are now two new forms of the Tundra. There is the diesel Tundra and the hybrid Tundra. The hybrid Tundra is quite a challenge for the Toyota Company because not all models of all trucks are able to support the hybrid technology in a way that it would be more efficient so that they could make it. The diesel Tundra is being made for a more heavy-duty job then that of the regular tundra. It features an 8-liter diesel engine with an Eton manual transmission and many other options.

In 2004 the NASCAR Craftsmen Truck Series decided to allow the Tundra to race on its tracks and got its first win on July 31, 2004 on the Michigan International Speedway.
